    Gamefest, introduction and beta test....

    Alright folks,

Was good to meet some of you guys last night at Gamefest - hope you all got back ok. We (obviously) stayed for more free beers...

If I didn’t meet you yesterday, my name is Robin and I’m a producer at a small (6 man) independent games company based in central London called Beatnik Games (http://www.beatnikgames.co.uk)

We’ve been working on our first (XNA) game since January. It’s a 3d multiplayer hack’n’slash in the vein of smash bros (with controls/physics like super mario galaxy).

We’re planning on having an open beta in mid October however, as mentioned yesterday, we’d love you guys to have an early play of it and let us know what you think about it.

If you’re keen, shout out and we can arrange something!

    Cheers

    Robin

PS: website with trailer / screenshots and beta registration will be up in the last week on august.

    Hey buddy

Great to meet you two at the conf, and a hearty pat on the back for getting as far as you have already.

Can't wait to see stuff when it's ready. Our offers to help out however we can still stand.

    Robin

    Thanks guys,

We’re going to put in a couple of weeks of hard work (including the weekends :( ) to get the gameplay/visuals up to scratch before we announce the game and start showing it to people..

Ideally I’d love to have you lot pick the game apart in a ‘show and tell’ session. Feedback would be more easily noted and you’ll get a chance to meet the team (and chat hardcore XNA stuff with the programmers)

Sometime during the 1st week of September would be good for us.. how does that sound for you?

Also, Robin, I really appreciate the offer to help – very happy to take you up on it! As mentioned on Wednesday, we haven’t shown anyone at Microsoft the game yet and don’t have any contacts within the company..  So, If you know of anyone who’d be interested in seeing the game, I’d love to have a chat with them!

Let me know how you stand for the beginning of September (including what equipment is needed etc ) and I’ll put in the company diary

    Cheers

    Robin

    know the feeling mate!

We could always do a late afternoon / evening session if that would be easier ... I realise what a valuable commodity holiday time is ;)

Alas, I live in Leicester so for me to get to London for any time span in the week means I need to book at the very least half a day.. But if  I can get it I will :)
