XNA UK User Group

QANTM are generously opening up one of their guest lectures to XNA UKUG members. Robin Moore from Rare will be talking about the development process of Viva Pinata.

 OOoh it's on the same day as the London Game Career Fair, which means i'll be in town.What kind of time are we talking here?

I don't know how long the talk will be but I'd guess at an hour, two at most. I'll ask QANTM for confirmation on that.

 Am i right in thinking QANTM == SAE Institute? I've been to SAE once before and i distinctly remember one of their guys advertising for a tutor position on these very boards not long ago :)

Correct, in both cases. They're based near where I live so I went and had a chat. Good people, interesting courses.

I'd be up for that!  I've just got into Viva Pinata recently actually so it'll be good to meet the person I need to blame for losing development time on Shuggy.  :)

It'd be interesting to meet some of you guys as well.

Hi all, great to hear there's some interest - the more, the merrier.

Matt, to answer the QANTM == SAE Institute thing.. Yes, SAE bought the Australian College network Qantm, then opened new colleges based on their successful system in some European locations. Now a Qantm is opening in London, though not in the SAE building. The talk will most likely be at SAE, but there's a small chance of it being at Qantm depending on the build progress (I'll obviously post here if anything changes.)

Dave, it would be brilliant to meet you at last - hopefully something worth coming over for too :) If some of you come to this, I'll definitely open up more of the talks etc to XNA-UK
