XNA UK User Group

We're joining in with the XNA and Rare folks for a night during Nottingham's GameCity festival. There'll be free beer & grub, Frag Dolls, games, prizes and Robin and I pretending to be demo scene coders.

I've emailed the Microsoft address provided on the Gamecity site to ask for information about this.  I'd love to go!

What extra information did you want? I know I've been slack about putting up some map links, but was there something else you wanted to know?

A map would be good, I have not got a clue where it is..

Do we all have to wear a specifically colored flower so that we are instantly recognizable to each other?? :P

I know Nottingham pretty well, so I think I'd be alright finding it.  I was more wondering about how I (and maybe 1 or 2 friends) would be able to attend.  Is it guestlist only?

Ah,  simple. Just tell us who is coming and we can arrange for you to get in. I'm not actually sure if its guestlist only but there is a guestlist, which we would put you on.

You can also sign up directly through Microsoft but it would be useful for us to at least know who's coming because of the group. Even if you do ignore us and spend the evening playing Halo3.

If you expressed an interest in coming to this event you should have received an email from Rare/Microsoft. If you did receive this email, then great - see you there.

If you haven't received that email then, firstly I'm sorry, I tried to ensure user group members some preferential treatment but I'm told that many people wanted to go and things got a bit chaotic; and secondly, to ensure entry you should try to arrive early.

Actually, if you want to be sure of getting in you should probably be there early whether you're confirmed on the guest list or not... Doors open at 7pm.

Oh, I've updated the original post with a map link too.

Would you believe it! I have a meeting in London that day, normally events are in London and I struggle to get to them, this one is right on my bloody door step and it looks like I am now going to be in London!!

Looks like I am am going to miss this one, if I can get there I will but it does not look likely... Would have been nice to put some faces to these profiles. Oh well, maybe next time.
